GLASTONBURY might be over, but there are still dozens of music festivals to be enjoyed this summer, including the iconic Reading and Leeds rock festivals.

And on Friday, July 22, Cirencester auctioneers Moore Allen & Innocent will be offering for sale a number of lots to warm you up, get you there, and even cope with the post-festival blues.

Hundreds of vinyl records are to be auctioned, over several lots, on behalf of a number of vendors.

LPs and singles cover a range of rock and pop classics, from the 1960s to the 1980s – perfect for getting in the mood for a weekend of music.

Among the most collectable are a copy of the rare mono gold-on-black label version of Please Please Me by The Beatles.

At £200 to £300, the auctioneers would urge anyone with a copy of The Beatles’ first LP to check if it has a gold-on-black Parlophone label, which were only adhered to the first and second pressings.

Anyone with a gold-on-black copy of the stereo version is in even more luck – these sell for £1,000-plus.

Owners of a copy with a later yellow-on-black label will have to contend themselves with the fact that they own 14 tracks of classic British pop, worth around £20.

The auctioneers are also offering for sale a rare original pressing of The Beatles’ White Album, with embossed band name and stamped issue number to the front cover.

This version is known as a top loader, as the two pieces are vinyl are accessed from the top, rather than the traditional right hand side, of the sleeve.

It contains the original poster and lyric sheet, and the portrait prints of the four band members that were packaged with the first pressings.

A bid of £80 to £100 should secure the lot.

Suitably warmed up for a weekend of revelry, the auction house has the perfect thing to get festival-goers to their destination, and keep them in comfort once on site.

A 2007 Fiat Ducatto motorhome is offered for sale with an estimate of £8,000 to £10,000.

With 53,000 miles on its 2.2 litre diesel engine, the motorhome sleeps four, and affords a level of comfort that will make fellow festival-goers green with envy, including air conditioning, heating, a fridge, an oven, and that most precious of festival luxuries: a flushing toilet without long queues.

Once back in the comfort of their own homes, bidders might be inspired to pick up a guitar and learn a few chords themselves.

A Stagg Elevation electric guitar, with practice amp, is a perfect introduction to the instrument.

Based on the classic Fender Stratocaster, the guitar comes at a fraction of the price – it is offered with an auctioneer’s estimate of £50 to £80.
