PEOPLE will be able to voice their concerns over plans to stop overnight services at Cirencester Hospital's minor injuries unit.

Engagement events over the next month will enable people to speak directly to members of Gloucestershire's NHS trust.

The NHS launched a review of Cirencester Hospital's unit on July 12 after it was closed several times overnight due to staff shortages.

The review will look at cost-cutting measures for the unit to help resolve a £600,000 funding gap in the county’s NHS.

More than 1,200 people have signed a petition by Councillor Joe Harris calling on Cirencester's minor injuries unit to be kept open 24 hours.

Meanwhile, Cotswold MP Geoffrey Clifton-Brown has supported proposals to close the unit overnight saying that a 24-hour service "not cost effective".

In Cirencester, engagement events will take place at the Corinium Museum:

  • Drop-in: 11.15am to 12.30pm, Wednesday, July 27
  • Drop-in: 11am to 12.30pm, Tuesday, August 9
  • Information bus: 1.30pm to 3pm, Friday, August 26

For the north Cotswolds, an information bus event will take place at The Square in Stow-on-the-Wold on Monday, August 8 from 10am to 11.30am.
