THERE will be free entry for children and lots of free fun at the Coln St Aldwyns Children's Fete & Produce Show.

The fete, in association with Cotswold Airport on Saturday, September 3, has been dedicated to raising money for children's activities and charities.

It celebrates it's 30th anniversary this year and takes place from 1pm to 5pm in Manor Farm House gardens, Coln St Aldwyns.

Among the free games for children are the Bouncy Castle, Human Fruit Machine, Splat the Rat, Wiggly Wire, Hoopla, Quoits and Skittles.

With many of the games children win tokens that they can cash-in at the end of the day for prizes.

There are fabulous prizes, too, in the children’s categories, in the Produce Show including family passes to Birdland and the Cotswold Farm and a riding lesson at the Talland School.

And overseeing all the fun on his stilts will be children’s entertainer, The Magnificent Mr Kai.

Adults are welcome for just £2.50 entry each. There’s a bar, Pimms stall, hog roast lunch, tea and cakes, and ukulele music from village favourites, The Ukey D’Ukes.

During the last three years the fete has donated over £11,000 to children’s good causes.

The projects range from schools that specialise in providing support for disadvantaged children, workshops for disabled children, helping to fund a youth worker, and financing equipment for local schools.

The Fete’s overall sponsor is Cotswold Airport and other sponsors include builders White-Monk, SE Controls, Sweet Fuels, Barbury Shooting School, Computer Solutions, Donkeywell Forge, Godwin Xylem, AJ Arborists, Charles Samuel, Made by Bob, and local couple Yvette and Andrew Kirk.

Local businesses and residents have also donated fabulous prizes for the Grand Raffle and Golden Lucky Dip.

Among the Raffle prizes are a four-night winter break in a luxury Padstow cottage, a micro-flight lesson at Cotswold Airport, and two VIP tickets to next year’s BBC Gardeners’ World Live show.
