CLIVE Bennett in his letter (August 25) kindly reminds us that there are other road users that we forget sometimes, protected in our air-bag, crumple zone fitted vehicles.

Undistracted by various media displays and “infotainment”, he has observed, through the toughened glass, that other people are sharing the highway.

People walking, running, riding bikes, horses, motorbikes, driving cars, trucks and motorhomes.

A minority of these people behave like louts, numpties and plonkers (his words), they will exhibit this behaviour whether they’re walking, cycling, driving or playing golf.

As for policing such behaviour I’m in total agreement with Clive, however I fear that in the real world we have to tolerate the intolerable, hopefully with patience.
