IN A bid to show its commitment to Macmillan Cancer Support, McCarthy and Stone developments across the South West are taking part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, with its Stoke Gifford development, Cheswick Court, putting on a spread of coffee, tea and a selection of cakes on Friday, September 30.

Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning aims to raise vital funds to help Macmillan be there for people facing cancer.

There are now 2.5 million people in the UK living with cancer and by 2030, this will have risen to four million people.

Guests and homeowners can expect to enjoy an array of tea-time treats, themed games and a bake off competition to mark the cancer charity’s nationwide fundraiser morning.

Guests will also get to fully experience life at Cheswick Court, with the opportunity to mingle with current homeowners and get a taste for the lifestyle on offer.

Debby Pavitt, sales and marketing director for McCarthy and Stone South West, said: “At all of our developments, including Cheswick Court, we host coffee mornings on a weekly basis, so it made sense to get involved with Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, and to open our doors to the public to raise as many funds for the charity as possible.”

She continued: “It takes just one person to make a donation at one of our coffee mornings on September 30, and this could pay for a Macmillan nurse for an hour, helping people living with cancer and their families receive essential medical, practical and emotional support.

“It is a cause McCarthy and Stone feels very strongly about, and is proud to be hosting coffee mornings across our South West developments.”

Designed exclusively for over 60s, Cheswick Court boasts a selection of 32 stunning one and two-bedroom apartments.

The Long Down Avenue development allows homeowners to retain their independence in the form of home ownership while enjoying a beautiful setting and luxuriously appointed accommodation – all with the peace of mind that support and friendship are close at hand.

Debby Pavitt continued: “At McCarthy and Stone is committed to helping older people stay independent for longer.

“Retirement living offers the independence of retaining home ownership, while living in a secure, low-maintenance and energy-efficient apartment.

“What’s more, with the maintenance of all external and communal areas taken care of, homeowners can spend more time enjoying their retirement with family and friends.”

Homeowners at Cheswick Court are able to relax in the homeowners’ lounge, a comfortable communal area ideal for socialising with friends, as well as the development’s beautiful landscaped gardens.

“Should homeowners wish for guests to stay over, a convenient guest suite is on site to ensure all visitors enjoy a comfortable stay.

“The development also benefits from its own house manager, who ensures the smooth running of the development, a security entrance system, and 24-hour emergency call points provide added peace of mind for both homeowners and their families.
