THE SUN shone on an annual street fair and a duck race over the bank holiday weekend.

This popular summer event took place in South Cerney on Monday, May 29 between 10am-5pm.

The village centre was a bustling hive of activity, full of market stalls, games and funfair rides.

There was also food stalls, face painting, a dog show, magicians, entertainment stages, live bands and fire engines.

Families and friends gathered at The River Churn for the highly anticipated duck race with thousands of plastic ducks at the ready.

Duck number 1243 was crowned this year's winner, duck number 1 claimed second place, and number 826 took home the bronze.

The duck race raises money for local organisations every year such as Ann Edwards School, Brownies, Cotswold Lakes Trust, Men’s Shed and Benefice Parish Office.

Last year over 15 organisations benefitted from the £7100 raised from the 2022 duck race.
