AN ANTI-SOCIAL Behaviour Injunction has been imposed on a 15-year-old from Cirencester.

The application for the injunction was made under the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, August 8.

A judge granted the injunction for a duration of 12 months, with a number of provisions and prohibitions in place.

These prohibitions include:

  • ban on threatening to use violence towards another person(s)
  • ban on behaving in a way that causes alarm or harassment or distress to another person
  • ban on swearing or shouting at people
  • ban on climbing on buildings in the town centre or anywhere in Cirencester at any time

In addition to the specific prohibitions, the court also ordered that the defendant must work with his youth support worker who will assist him in adhering to the conditions of the injunction and provide support in other areas of his life.

Notably, this injunction also carries a power of arrest tied to provisions 1, 2, and 4 of the order.

This means that any constable can arrest the 15-year-old without a warrant if they have reasonable cause to suspect that he is in breach of the order.

The order, along with the power of arrest, will remain in force until 4pm on August  8, 2024 unless it is revoked by a further order of the court.

This defendant cannot be named due to his age.
