THE headteacher at Malmesbury School has praised his dedicated staff who have worked 'tirelessly to ensure that every student has the opportunity to thrive' on GCSE results day.

Nervous students arrived at the secondary school in Malmesbury between 8.30am and 11am this morning to collect their GCSE results.

This cohort of Year 11s have had huge disruption to their education over the last four years and headteacher Brett Jouny is extremely proud of all their hard work.

Mr Brett Jouny said: “We are so proud of our Year 11 cohort and the outcomes they have achieved.

"Given the backdrop of so much disruption to their education throughout the last four years, they have gained excellent results which will prepare them so well for their next steps.

"Our high outcomes have continued this year with a very strong pass rate at both Grade 4 and Grade 5 plus.

"The number of students gaining a Grade 4 in both English and maths has remained high at an excellent 80 per cent.

"We are thrilled to welcome a huge number of Year 11 students back into our outstanding sixth form and wish all our students the very best of luck for their exciting next steps.

"All students should be very proud of the excellent progress they have made at Malmesbury School since arriving in Year 7.

"I must end by recognising the huge dedication and effort of our staff, without whom these amazing results would not be possible.

"They work tirelessly to ensure that every student has the opportunity to thrive, and these results show what a consistently fantastic job they do in our happy caring and excellent school."
