THIS year's GCSE students from public school near Cirencester have been praised for their resilience and passion for their subjects.

At Rendcomb College 45 per cent of their Year 11 pupils achieved Grades 7-9, which is an 11 per cent increase to the college's GCSE results in 2019.

In addition, 65 per cent of this year's GCSE cohort achieved Grades 6-9, an increase of 10 per cent compared the college's 2019’s results.

Staff at the college are impressed with how this year's cohort have shown resilience and passion for their subjects despite two years of disrupted schooling.

Head of College Rob Jones wanted to give a few students special recognition for their outstanding achievements.

In particular, Ameline P who achieved Grades 7-9 in 11 different subjects and Evelyn M who achieved Grades 7-9 in 10 different subjects.

William W and Jack W also achieved impressive results, with both of them achieving 9-7 grades in nine different subjects.

Mr Jones also wanted to extend a heart-felt congratulations to all the GCSE students for alll their hard work and dedication.

He said: “I am very pleased and proud of all of our pupils who have worked so hard under such challenging circumstances.

"With exams being marked back at 2019 levels it is a great credit to see so many surpassing their expectations.

"These results are achieved because we focus on each individual helping them to be the best they can be in and out of the classroom.”
