AN 18-YEAR-OLD man from near Cirencester has been banned from the roads for driving while nearly twice the alcohol limit. 

Felix Buswell, of Cheltenham Road, Stratton, Cirencester, was caught driving a Kia Rio on the A417, Southbound carriageway at Nettleton Bottom near Cheltenham having consumed 68 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.

The legal limit is 35 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.

Buswell pleaded guilty to the offence at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, October 3.

He has been fined £120, must pay a £48 victim surcharge plus £85 in costs - a total of £253.

Buswell was also banned from driving for 20 months.

This could be reduced by 20 weeks if he completes a drink-driving course by Wednesday, November 13 next year.
