A NEW fitness centre has opened in Cirencester.
Fitbox Cirencester opened in a unit in Querns Business Centre on Wednesday, January 3.
Owner Jack Gower, aged 29, has always dreamt about running his own gym and was excited to see his vision come to life.
Mr Gower's father-in-law has been the managing the renovation of the unit and played an essential part in transforming the former office into a sleek, modern space.
The training facility provides exercise classes for small groups (a maximum of 15 participants) as well as bespoke personal training sessions.
Mr Gower is currently running 45-minute classes at 6am, 7am, 9.30am and 5.45pm.
He went to Cirencester College and Rendcomb College and has been a personal trainer in the area for the last few years.
Mr Gower also used to be a tennis coach at Cirencester Tennis Club.
Discussions about the new fitness centre began when he bumped into the owner of Fitbox Brighton in Cyprus who persuaded him to open one in the Cotswolds.
Mr Gower said: "I bumped into my now business partner while on holiday in Cyprus in October 2022 who already owned a gym like this in Brighton and persuaded me to replicate it in the Cotswolds.
"I am a personal trainer and have always wanted to own a gym.
"Cirencester has always been my hometown which is why I wanted to build a gym there.
"We are a training facility so you can only come to classes such as CrossFit, HIIT training, circuit training etc.
"There is nothing quite like Fitbox in the town so we don't have much competition.
"The training centre has got male and female changing rooms, an office, a reception area, a bag drop off area and the gym floor itself so it is pretty spacious.
"It is just me working here at the moment but we have three personal trainers who are going to start using the facility in February to train their clients.
"All the equipment at Fitbox Cirencester is brand spanking new.
"The plan is to be as successful as we can be.
"In the future I would like to open another gym and then to keep growing the business until we own multiple Fitbox gyms across the country."
