A SPACIOUS salon for four-legged friends opened just outside of Cirencester this morning.
Spruce Cirencester Dog Grooming has moved into a bigger unit in Cheltenham Road, Stratton which opened for business today, Monday, January 15.
This new salon marks a new exciting chapter for the growing business.
Founder Heather Muir said that the Stratton team decided it was time to move into a larger space because of their increasing demand of new clients.
The new salon is three times bigger than their previous one in Stratton - which was on the same site - which means the groomers will now be able to attend to three or four dogs at one time, rather than just one or two.
However, Ms Muir is keen to maintain their one groomer per dog ratio so that they can continue to provide all their canine clients with a high quality experience.
There are currently two groomers working at the new salon but two more are due to start in a few weeks.
In addition, the business was named runner up for the PIF's (Pet Industry Federation) Dog Groomers of the Year award in 2022.
Ms Muir said: "As owner of Spruce, I have built a business that takes people in as apprentices and trains them up so that they can run a salon as their own business or franchise.
"We currently have three salons, one in Cricklade High Street, one in Dyer Street, Cirencester and another at The Barn, Stratton Firs, Cheltenham Road, Cirencester.
"Jordan, who runs the Stratton salon, is a great example of how groomers can progress within the company and end up running their own Spruce business.
"By looking after my team and giving them opportunities at every level, I have found that this encourages loyalty and commitment within the business.
"We are really delighted with the new Stratton salon, it's so successful that it currently has a five-week waiting list.
"Jordan has done a fantastic job at renovating the unit ready for business today."
