AN UPDATE has been issued about the opening of a new Indian restaurant in Cirencester.

In December owners of Dosa Park, a popular South Indian restaurant chain which started in Oxford, announced plans to open a fourth venue in Cirencester.

The new restaurant, which will be situated in 29 Sheep Street where Tierra and Mar used to be, was originally set to open in January but this date has been pushed pack due to the busy Christmas/ New Year period in the Oxford restaurants.

A front of house manager and head chef have been appointed for the new venue.

Both of them have been busy undertaking training at Dosa Park's Botley restaurant in West Way Square, Oxford.

The new Cirencester restaurant will create seven full time jobs in total and its menu will encompass a range of South Indian dishes such as dosas, idlis, vadas and biryanis.

Co-owner of Dosa Park Omer Rahim has revealed that they are aiming to open the restaurant next month.

Mr Rahim said: “It has been great to work with the new staff and we cannot wait to get into the new Cirencester Dosa Park and to start cooking.

"We will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner so we know we are going to be busy and want to make sure that we get everything right.

"The opening of the restaurant in Cirencester will be mid-February."
