I FAILED to mention that we had another indoor arts and crafts market in the Baptist Hall (near the veg) on Saturday.

We tried a few in December which were a great success, and we are now running them every second and fourth Saturdays for Stroud based arts and crafts makers. Last Saturday had great footfall in there too, so it looks like it will continue to be successful.

We have some spaces available for the upcoming markets so any makers looking for an indoor space, get in touch by emailing markets@fresh-n-local.co.uk.

On the vegetables front this week, we have Newark Farm away on holiday for two weeks, Coleshill Organic returning and, thankfully, Hotch Potch Organic also attending to plug the gap.

Adeline Farm and Styan’s Family Produce will be there too. There are some lovely cauliflowers at the moment but you have to be there early to get a look in. It was great having Slad Valley Mushrooms back last week too and, unless we have another cold snap, production should be steady going forward.

Elsewhere, we have The Garlic Farm with us this Saturday (I’ve lately been enjoying the “Hot Garlic Pickle” on my peanut butter sandwiches!) as well as Sibling Distillery with their range of Gins.

We have a lot of Organic vegetable stalls, and someone asked me whether any of the meat stalls were registered organic. I was glad to point them in the direction of Adey’s Farm, in the far corner of the square. One of our original stallholders and still producing the finest organically reared pork, beef and lamb.
