THE INCREDIBLE success of the Lionesses at last year's World Cup has inspired more girls in Malmesbury to play the beautiful game.

Last season Malmesbury Youth Football Club launched dedicated girls' training sessions.

These sessions enable girls to train, play and develop their skills in a 'safe, supportive and girls-only environment.

Girls are also welcome to join any of the club's youth teams.

Rhianon Stidever, girls’ coach at the club said: "The incredible success of our fantastic Lionesses in the Women’s World Cup has certainly inspired a nation of young girls to get involved in grassroots football, which is something we’re particularly passionate about here at Malmesbury Youth Football Club.

"We’re a phenomenal club for the community of Malmesbury and the surrounding villages, and with the girls’ game continuing to go from strength to strength, our girls’ division enables girls to train, play competitively and develop their skills and techniques in a safe and supportive setting.

"Our fantastic coaches deliver welcoming, supportive and inspiring coaching which gives players a positive sporting environment to enjoy.

"We proudly host a summer tournament (June 14 - June 16), which was hugely successful last year, and we can’t wait to be back with more of the same this year.

"It’s very much a fun, enjoyable football experience for the community – we welcome everyone, regardless of ability, and it's our goal that people leave with a smile!

"We’re a super friendly, fun club and welcome players of all ages to come and give footie a go – we look forward to welcoming you!

"As the club grows with new players, we’re always interested to hear about new coaches who’d like to join us too.

"If you’d like to find out more about what coaching involves, we’d love to hear from you, so please get in touch.”
