A BRAND-NEW Specsavers branch is due to open in our area soon.

Work is currently taking place to transform the former Lloyds TSB building in Long Street, Tetbury into a welcoming space where residents can book opticians and audiologist appointments.

The new branch will be owned and run by Jake Henderson alongside three directors - Cobi Williams, Rizwan Choonara and Jo Bryan - who have been running Specsavers in Stroud for last nine years.

It will have four consulting rooms and is due to open in May.

Mr Williams said: "We’re delighted to be opening our doors in Tetbury.

"There’s lots to be done ahead of May, but we’re looking forward to welcoming customers for both eye and hearing tests.

"We’ll have four consulting rooms and state-of-the-art equipment, including an Optical Coherence Tomography machine.

"This technology takes a 3D image of the back of the eye to help spot serious eye conditions, including glaucoma, up to four years earlier than traditional methods.

"There will be an official opening which we are in the process of confirming, and we’ll give an update once we have more details.

"We’re also recruiting for a range of different roles, so if you’d like to join the team, please get in touch by heading to the careers section on the Specsavers website.

"Optical or retail experience, while helpful, isn’t necessary as full training will be given."
