CIRENCESTER TOWN Ladies were celebrating this week as they were crowned champions of Gloucestershire County Division One. 

The side - who have won 15 out of 16 league encounters this season - were crowned champions after beating Tuffley Rovers Ladies 7-0 away from home. 

Cirencester Town, whose sole defeat in the league was against Dursley, exacted revenge on their Gloucestershire rivals in a league cup semi-final on Sunday, winning 4-1. 

Amelia Dudding and Eve Timbrell scored two apiece in the victory which saw Cirencester cement their place in the cup final in the same week as winning the league. 

A post on social media after the victory against Tufley read: "It was an incredible night and we want to thank everyone who came and supported us and for all the kind messages."

"It was a much more convincing win today with player of the match going to Katie Bailey.

"Katie has been playing some of her best football the past few months and the worthy winner."

Cirencester have been superior in both attack and defence this season in the league. 

The team as a whole have scored 81 goals in 16 matches this season, with five players reaching double figures. 

Jodie Bailey and Eve Timbrell have scored 19 goals each, Amelia Dudding has 14 with both Liberty Messenger and Eden Marsh notching up 10 goals each. 

They have also only conceded 15 goals in the league. 

Cirencester Town play the league cup final on Sunday, May 5.
