MEMBERS of the Malmesbury Amateur Boxing Club have been invited to take part in a unique tournament on board a £143 million deluxe super yacht in Gibraltar in April.

The Sunborn Yacht Hotel will play host to the exhibition in which Malmesbury ABC boxers will take on fighters from Gibraltar.

The hotel is a five-star yacht hotel based in Gibraltar and was the world's first deluxe super-yacht hotel and now boxers from Malmesbury will get the chance to experience a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Famously, Dillian Whyte and Alexander Povetkin spent time on the yacht in the build up to their 2021 fight dubbed the 'Rumble on the Rock'.

The yacht stretches a massive 465 feet and is seven stories high, making it one of the biggest yachts on the planet. The Sunborn Hotel has 189 rooms that can cost up to £2,000 a night.

A statement on the Malmesbury ABC Facebook said: "We're really pleased to be invited to Gibraltar in April where some of our boxers will form part of a select team to face Gibraltar boxers.

"Even better is that the tournament will be held on the Sunborn Yacht Hotel, which will be a different experience for all of us, and life is about experiences.

"With more international amateur boxing associations partnering with the ABA, travel abroad to compete is going to become a regular thing for us."
