GLOS/WILTS divisional champions Lechlade will wind up their 2014 season today with a home game against Gloucester City Winget at the Manor Ground.

Joe Breet and Luke Sellers, Lechlade’s captain and coach, both want to finish the season on a winning note and name an unchanged side for this weekend’s final clash of the season.

The pair maintain that the current Lechlade team is probably the best side that either of them has played for at club level.

Breet believes that top class cricket is within his side’s capabilities.

“The club is buzzing after winning the league last weekend but the real celebration was put on hold as we want to finish on a high at home and then celebrate our title with the whole club.

“We have a very talented squad and one that I am confident will be able to compete at the next level. I firmly believe that the party at Lechlade has only just begun.”

Sellers added: “A lot of people have put in a lot of effort off the field to get the team where we are.

“Hopefully, we as a team have justified the chairman’s and the committee’s faith and hard work and it will be great to celebrate our success all together as a club after the game on Saturday.

“Everybody in the team at some point this season has contributed to our success and the boys should be very proud of what we have achieved.”
