Running Somewhere Else
Christmas Party and Awards evening
ON FRIDAY the lycra was replaced by party gear (for one night only) as the Running Somewhere Else club held their awards evening.
The 2014 men's championship for 2014 was won by James Thomas ahead of Simon Bowers in second and Russell Young in third. The ladies' championship was won by Teresa Hazelwood. In second place was Sharon Smith with Sharon Baldwin in third.
The Most Improved Runner award went to Kirsty Pitts and the Runners' Runner was won by Laura Maddison.
Our thanks go to Andy Sampson and his staff at the Somewhere Else bar in Cirencester for a fabulous night of great food and service.
A big thank you also goes to Jacki Day for organising the evening.
Swindon Parkrun JUST two RSE members ran in this week's Festive Parkrun in Swindon. First home for the club was Mark Manley who finished in 19.52 (PB) followed by Matt Lambourne in 20.58.
Endurance Life Coastal Trail Series – Dorset SIMON JONES, one of the newer members, completed the Half-Marathon Endurance Life Coastal Trail on December 6.
His time was 4:05.58 over a tough course that actually measured 16.3 miles instead of the traditional half-marathon distance of 13.1m.
