POOLE speedway star Davey Watt has suffered a broken foot and ligament damage while racing in Poland.
It's a major blow for reigning champions who face their 2015 Elite League opener in a double-header against Swindon Robins on Good Friday.
Watt said: "I am already sorting out treatments to be back as quickly as possible but right now I can't put a timescale on it.
"I am really angry and upset about this injury.
"I worked so hard in the winter to get fit for this season after a spate of niggling other injuries and then this happens to me right at the start of the campaign."
Former Swindon rider James Wright will guest for the club in the home clash with Poole.
Wright will stand in for his brother Charles who has a clashing fixture for Somerset.
The remainder of the Robins team is at full-strength for both fixtures, with Charles taking his place at reserve at Wimborne Road in the morning.
