Tetbury 154 all out
Birdlip & Brimpsfield 117 all out
TETBURY started the 2015 season with a hard-fought victory over Birdlip and Brimpsfield.
Losing the toss and tasked with batting in overcast conditions, Tetbury lost early wickets to the impressive Birdlip opening bowler George James (3-23).
A steady 40 from Tom Horrell and useful middle-order contributions from James Westhead (23), Sid Baverstock and Mark Schumm meant Tetbury posted a respectable 154 all out.
Tetbury needed to take early wickets and great bowling from Alex Evans (2-23) and Mike Baverstock (3-19), with some exceptional catching from Ryan Walker, meant Tetbury were always in the driving seat.
Birdlip managed to get to 117 before they were all out.
Following on from last season's success, the Tetbury club have been given funding for two new sight screens from the Feofees and Tetbury Lions Club.
The club would like to thank all members of the Lions Club for their generous donation and also Lance Vick, chairman of the Feofees. It is greatly appreciated.
