GLOUCESTER-based Jordan Weaving secured his first National Superstock 600 podium this weekend at Cadwell Park, finishing the race in second position.

Weaveing rode a mature race in Lincolnshire and crossed the line just one position behind his team-mate Mason Law as many crashed out in sunny conditions.

Starting the race from sixth position despite a nasty crash on Saturday, the 18 year old was able to stay with the leaders on his Kawasaki from the opening lap.

Not risking too much Weaving was able to hold second position to the line as he battled lower down the field, until he progressed up into second position.

Weaving explained: "The race was really tough, the pace was faster than I'd been running all weekend.

"I got off to a really good start and dropped in behind the top three, but make a few mistakes trying to run with the trio.

"I was closing in on them before Currie crashed out, and I lost a little momentum from Chrissy and Mason.

"I was comfortable in third place before Chrissy crashed out as my pit board was showing the gap extending behind me with each lap.

"It was an awesome feeling to cross the line to take my first podium in STK600 and I can't thank my team enough for their hard work after both Mason and I crashed yesterday, there's not much sleep been had by the crews so thank you so much to them all."
