Staverton 10-mile

ALI LANE showed her class as she powered her way to the Female Vet 55 title at the Staverton 10-mile – the second race of the current AAA Gloucestershire road race series.

Ali raced home in an impressive 1:17.33 to remain unbeaten this season.

Chris Krzywiec continues to improve with each race and was gain the first Bourton runner home in 11th overall as he posted another PB in 59.23.

On his way back from numerous injuries, Nigel Frith was pleased to record a fast 1:08.54.

Preparing for their next marathon, Lucy Walmsley and Claire Harrison both used the race well for strength and speed work to record 1:09.25 and 1:10.42 respectively.

Graham 'Steady' Lane was happy with 1:19.27.

Linda Edwards and Gill Carrick continue their personal battles with Linda victorious on this occasion by a small margin in 1:28.39 compared to Gill's 1:29.32.

Funchal Marathon

STEVE EDWARDS has been as busy as ever and continues to impress in varied running conditions.

Marathon 714 saw Steve jetting off to the warmer climate of Madeira for the Funchal Marathon. He delivered yet again in 3:19.48 and collected the third MV50 prize .

Steve then returned for marathon 715 back in the horrendous UK conditions.

The Enigma Marathon took place in violent winds, but nothing stops our Steve who went on to be race winner in 3:27.20.
