Race to the Stones
JACKI DAY and Amelia Culshaw took on a gruelling challenge and competed in the Race to the Stones, 100k Ultramarathon on Saturday/Sunday.
The ever popular race took the competitors along the oldest path in Britain – The Ridgeway.
Starting from the Chilterns in Oxfordshire to the North Wessex Downs, taking in some of the most wonderful views with designated areas of outstanding natural beauty.
Jacki and Amelia started at 8am on Saturday and completed the course in an amazing 19 hours.
Huge congratulations to both of you, what an awesome achievement!
Bourton One-Mile Challenge
WELL done to RSE’s Sharon Smith who ran in the Bourton One-Mile challenge on Saturday evening, and finished in a time of 6.59.
Bolton Ironman
BRILLIANT result from Andy Sampson at the Bolton Ironman on Sunday.
The competitors started off with a 2.4 mile swim which was two loops of Pennington Flash, followed by 112 miles on the bike, from Pennington Flash and finishing at the Macron Stadium, where the 26.2 mile run commences.
Andy finished in 13hrs 24mins 6secs (splits S-1.26.41, B-6.46.02, R-4.54.29).
