Cirencester Town 0 Hitchin Town 0
NEW boss Charlie Griffin could not have asked for any more effort from his struggling Cirencester Town team after their battling goalless draw against high-flying Hitchin Town.
The visitors dominated the first half but Ciren stood toe to toe with them in the second period and created the best chance of the game when Ross Langworthy was put through on the hour mark but could not guide his shot past Michael Johnson.
The Canaries were reduced to 10 men in the 83rd minute when Callum Donnelly, who had only just come off the bench, upended fellow sub Kalum Youngsam.
But all Ciren’s hard work could have been undone in stoppage time when James Varney’s goalbound effort was kept out only by a diving Kyle Lapham on the line.
