MALMESBURY boxer Charlie Huckson maintained his good form to end 2023 in style with a unanimous decision victory in Bristol on Saturday.
Huckson - of Malmesbury Amateur Boxing Club - faced the experienced Will George from Paddy John's Gym and recorded the victory following a tough encounter.
He boxed intelligently against the tough forward-moving George, using his solid jab, longer reach and skilful footwork.
Huckson steadily increased his tempo as the bout progressed and eventually shifted focus to some heavy body shots as George's defence proved difficult to break down.
As the bout entered the third round, Huckson's fitness showed and George began to tire but the latter made it to the bell to take it to a judge's decision, who all gave the Malmesbury boxer the win.
It concludes an impressive end to the year for Huckson, who earlier in December won the ABA Senior Novice Welterweight title.
It was also the final bout of 2023 for the Malmesbury club, as they look ahead to more success in 2024.
