IT was a successful evening of boxing for Malmesbury Amateur Boxing Club's youngsters in Torquay at the weekend.
12-year-old Jasper Smith was first up in a skills bout with home club boxer, Clayton Blewitt.
South Paw Smith boxed calmly and in a very controlled manner and did himself and his spectating parents proud.
Malmesbury's 11-year-old Thomas Sykes entered the ring in his usual calm and smiley manner to take on home boxer Bobby O’ Regan.
It was a tough contest and Thomas was slightly behind going into the last round but he followed instructions to the letter and had a great last round to take the win on points.
